When you toast with Perano, you do
it with your glass turned upside-down
ENRICO PERANO
One of the founders of free-style slalom, Enrico Perano has been one of the best slalom skaters in the international field. He created a lot of steps that still now are learnt all over the world, taking care of their technical descriptions that have been inserted in the Italian regulations of Styleslalom
He is more famous for pushing his gestures to the limit -- as incredible as they are precise -- than for his national and international victories, which are nonetheless numerous . His most important records are:
- Running backwards on just one foot around a line of 100 cones placed at 30 cm between their centres in less than 37''
- Running forward on just one foot around a line of 20 cones placed at 80 cm between their centres in less than 2,5'', with just an 8 m start from the first cone.
- 80 Km/h skating downhill backwards on just one foot
He appeared in numerous shows and exhibitions, internationally too (about 100 just in '96).
Furthermore, he has collaborated with skating magazines and has appeared on various television shows for demonstrations and interviews (Italia 1 Sport, Sereno Variabile on RAI 2, Passioni on RAI 2, RAI 3,…).
He was a member of many teams, such as European Tecnica Team, Team K2, Team MBE.
In '98 He received a prize from FIHP during Skating International Convention at Todi (PG) for his contribution to inline skating.
Since 2004 Enrico has created his website as a tool of teaching and promoting style-slalom and inline dance. He is always available for workshops, among others, the most important ones took place in Rome (2004,2005 , 2007 e 2008) , Barcelona (2005 e 2006) and Madrid (2008).
He has produced two DVDs on Styleslalom and one on Inline Dance, available in English or in Spanish too, that are sold all over the world.
In 2005 Enrico started collaborating with ROXA ( www.roxa.com ) creating a new free-style skate, called X-treme , and a new TEAM: The Roxa free-style team, of which Enrico is the promoter and the director. In this Team there is also the women's world champion, Sarah Veronese.
From 24/04/2009 Enrico has been named C.T. of Freestyle National Team.
In April 2010 Aurelia Editions published his Handbook, titled "Mathematics applied to Skating, Styleslalom Theory and Examples", including a DVD containing 50 videos with slalom tricks performed by him together with the Italian National Team.
