Styleslalom: BASES

This DVD explains the best compositions by the “Engineer”, using as basic steps the “walks” and “Ala”. Some of these steps, like the flowers of Ala and Mabrouk, already belong to the styleslalom History.
The steps described here have been recognized by the italian freestyle committee and may be selected to be mandatory steps for official contests.

This DVD is intended as a further explanation of the previous “ Styleslalom bases”.
Here you will learn new steps as step-dancing, one leg tip-tap, repeated 3, and new figures too, like spins, 270°rounding anti-eagle, the “8” and so on.
Therefore, having a greater variety of steps and figures, this DVD proposes more complex and spectacular compositions and mixtures.
At the end it shows some of the best runs of the “Engineer” performed at the Losanna ’97,’98 Contest and at Roller Cup Monza ’98.

From Styleslalom... to Inline Dance

Among the dance moves and compositions, that you can see with quad skates (jamskating), I have selected the ones that can be well performed with the inline skates. I have described deeply and in a didactic way the specific tecnique of each of these moves. You will also find plenty of compositions built using the dance moves.
This video represents the first result of a long study, that began about 10 years ago and still in constant evolution, through workshops and shows, in Italy and abroad.
Updates of these subjects can eventually be found in the in-line dance section of this website.

Theory and examples

For every step of Styleslalom it is possible to define some mathematical properties, such as symmetry, periodicity, antimetry and to plot a graph that describes these properties. Then the graphs can be composed obtaining more complex schemes from which you can deduce the choreographies of the corresponding steps.
The handbook strictly explains how:
- to create symmetric and antimetric choreographies adding to an elemental step its opposite and inverse
- to complete a given mix of steps making symmetrical and antimetrical its component steps
- to create new elemental steps applying to the well-known steps the duality principle.
According to this principle that is used in many scientific disciplines, from a relationship between some variables it is often possible to deduce a second truth as well, if the variables contained in the first relationship are substituted with others, called dual variables, obtained applying appropriate correspondences. So, building a table that lists a set of legs or skates positions required by the performance of some elemental steps and the corresponding set of dual positions, you can deduce new elemental steps.
In addition to the book a DVD with about fifty videos is included.
These videos are partly demonstratives, partly more didactic and the tricks shown in some of them are performed by athletes of the Italian National Team, that I coach.
